UDS Cautions Public Against Fake Admission Advertisements and Fraudulent Voucher Short Codes
The University for Development Studies (UDS) has cautioned prospective applicants, parents, guardians and the general public to disregard fake admission advertisements circulating on unauthorised platforms, particularly those asking applicants to purchase admission vouchers through short codes.
In a statement issued by the Directorate of Public Affairs, the University said it had taken notice of fraudulent activities by some individuals and groups who are using unofficial platforms to mislead unsuspecting applicants about the UDS admission process.
“The University for Development Studies has not provided any short code for the purchase of admission vouchers,” the statement said. “Any advertisement directing prospective applicants to buy UDS admission vouchers through short codes is fake and must be disregarded.”

The University explained that all official information regarding admissions, application procedures, admission requirements, deadlines and the purchase of application vouchers is available only through the University’s official website, www.uds.edu.gh.
According to the statement, the University has also not created any social media group for prospective applicants, nor has it added applicants to any such group for the purpose of issuing directives on the admission process.
“UDS has not created any social media group on which prospective applicants are being added and given instructions concerning the application process,” the statement added. “Any such group or platform claiming to represent the University is fraudulent and should be treated as the work of fraudsters.”
The University further warned members of the public to desist from engaging with persons, groups or platforms claiming to sell admission vouchers through unauthorised means.
It stressed that applicants, parents and guardians who deal with such fraudulent individuals or platforms do so at their own risk.
The Directorate of Public Affairs urged the public to be vigilant and to rely exclusively on the official UDS website for accurate and verified information.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all official information about the University for Development Studies and its application process can be accessed through the University’s official website, www.uds.edu.gh the statement said.
The University reaffirmed its commitment to protecting prospective students and the general public from misinformation, fraud and unauthorised admission-related schemes.
